Three of the Cutest Halloween Costume Ideas for Dogs

Halloween is a favorite holiday for many people! Both kids and adults get a chance to have fun and be silly in their favorite costumes, whether you’re going as a favorite character or keeping it classic with a spooky look. But, you’re not the only ones who can join in on the holiday fun! There are several ways you can dress your dog up for Halloween to make them look like part of the ensemble.

Below are our top three favorite dog costumes that are easy to DIY and can work great with your family’s outfits as well:

Ty Beanie Babies

This is one of the easiest costumes for dogs, as all you need is a Ty heart tag attached to your dog’s collar. You can make one out of cardboard and secure it using a string to instantly transform your pup into an adorable Beanie Baby

Movie and fairytale characters

If you have a breed that was featured in a movie, have the whole family play the part and dress as different characters! For example, if you have a Cairn terrier (or something similar like a Yorkie), you and the family can dress up as the Wizard of Oz cast with your dog as Toto. Or, if you have a husky or wolf-lookalike dog, you can dress them up as the Big Bad Wolf from Little Red Riding Hood.

Pupoccino

Starbucks is famous in the dog world for their pupoccinos or “pup cups” that they give to dog-owning customers in the drive-thru. If your dog loves their pup cup during your Starbucks trips, you can dress them up as one for Halloween! Create a Starbucks to-go sleeve out of cardboard and add a coffee lid as a hat, and they’ll be ready as your adorable Pup Cup.
Make sure to design your costumes with safety in mind, so your pet cannot accidentally get tangled in the costume or get stuck while walking around.
