Your First Visit

Welcome to the Jazz’s Wonderland Family

We’re delighted to welcome you and your furry friend to Jazz's Wonderland, where pets are our passion and their happiness is our priority. As a premier daycare, boarding, and grooming facility, we provide a safe, fun, and loving environment where your pet can thrive. Whether you’re here for daycare, an extended stay, or a grooming session, we’re committed to making your experience smooth and enjoyable.

First Step:

The first step in joining the Jazz's Wonderland family is to schedule a Meet and Greet. This initial meeting is the perfect opportunity for you to visit our facility, discuss your dog’s routine, and share any special needs or preferences. It’s also a crucial time for us to get to know your dog, evaluate their personality, and ensure they’ll be comfortable in our environment.

You don’t need to submit your pup’s vaccines just yet! All we need for the meeting is you and your fur baby for about 30 minutes.

Next Steps: Sign Up and Create Your Dog’s Profile

Now that we’ve had the pleasure of meeting you and your dog, and they’ve successfully passed our evaluation, it’s time to officially sign them up at Jazz's Wonderland! Our reservation process is fully online, making it easy for you to manage your dog’s stays with us.

Creating Your Dog’s Profile:

To get started, you’ll need to create a profile for your fur baby. This profile should include:

A recent photo of your dog, feeding instructions, any allergies or special dietary needs, current medications and up-to-date vaccination records

Keeping the Profile Current:

It’s essential to keep your dog’s profile up to date. As your dog’s health and needs change over time, updating their profile ensures we have the most accurate information to provide the best care possible.

Approval Process:

Once you submit your dog’s profile, our staff will need to verify the details, including manually approving the vaccination records. Please allow up to 24 hours for us to review everything before you make your first booking.

We’re excited to have your dog as part of the Jazz's Wonderland family, and we look forward to providing them with the best care possible!

Our Daily Routine: Fun, Play, and Relaxation

At Jazz's Wonderland, your pup will enjoy a day full of play and socialization in our indoor-outdoor facility. We’re open 7 days a week from 6 am to 7:30 pm, ensuring your dog has plenty of time to exercise, socialize, and simply have the best day ever.

Play All Day:

Our facility is designed for dogs to play and interact with each other throughout the day, both indoors and outdoors. Whether it’s playing in the kiddie pools, making new friends, or enjoying the sunshine, your pup will always have something fun to do. We have 7 outdoor yards where the dogs play in different groups based on size, age and personality.

Meal and Relaxation Breaks:

We take scheduled breaks for meals, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner times built into our routine. During these breaks, your dog will have an hour to eat, digest, and relax in their individual kennel, where they can enjoy the cool comfort of air conditioning and soothing classical music.

Flexible Routine:

Additional breaks can be arranged upon request to accommodate your dog’s specific needs. We also adjust our routine based on the weather, ensuring that your pup is comfortable and happy no matter the conditions.

What to Bring for Daycare

At Jazz's Wonderland, we strive to make your pup's daycare experience as seamless and enjoyable as possible. We provide everything your dog will need during their stay, so there's no need to pack much. Here’s what to bring:

1. Your Dog with a Collar On: Make sure your pup arrives wearing a comfortable collar. Please note that metal choke collars are not accepted for safety reasons.

2. Labeled Reusable Tote Bag: Pack a reusable tote bag labeled with your dog's name. Inside, please include pre-portioned food for your dog’s meals. Most of our daycare parents feed breakfast at home and send dinner for their pup to enjoy after a full day of play.

What Not to Bring:

- Toys, Beds, Bowls, Blankets: We have everything your dog needs for comfort and play during daycare, so there’s no need to bring these items.

- Leashes: We recommend taking your dog’s leash home unless it’s clearly labeled with their name.

Stay Connected:

We love capturing the fun moments throughout the day and sharing them with you! Follow us on social media to see daily photos of your pup enjoying their time at daycare.

What to Bring for Boarding

At Jazz's Wonderland, our boarding routine is the same as our daycare, with your pup getting plenty of time to play and socialize with their friends every day.

What to Bring:

- Collar On: Just like in daycare, your pup should arrive wearing a comfortable collar.

- Labeled Tote Bag with Food: Please pack a tote bag labeled with your dog’s name. Inside, include pre-portioned food in individual ziplock bags for each meal per day of their stay. We also recommend bringing a little extra food just in case. Ex: “ Jazz AM”, “Jazz PM”, “Jazz Extra”.

Beds:

We provide beds for all our boarding pups. However, if your dog is a senior or has a pre-existing physical condition, we encourage you to bring their own bed to ensure they’re as comfortable as possible during their stay.

Stay in Contact:

At Jazz's Wonderland, we understand how important it is to stay connected with your pup while they’re with us. You’re welcome to check in as many times as you’d like during their stay. While we might not always be available to answer calls, we’re available all day to reply to text messages.

Feel free to text us with your pup's name and any questions you have, and our team will be happy to provide updates.

You can reach us at 352-570-0887.

We’re here to ensure both you and your pup have peace of mind during their time at Jazz's Wonderland!

Recommendations for a Smooth Transition

At Jazz's Wonderland, we understand that every dog is unique, with their own personality and needs. Just like children, dogs thrive on routine and familiarity, so we never rush them into large playgroups. Our goal is to ensure that every dog feels comfortable and enjoys their time with us.

Why Daycare First?

Before your dog’s first boarding stay, we highly recommend starting with daycare. This allows your dog to get familiar with our routine, make friends, and see you at the end of the day. For dogs with separation anxiety, this approach helps them understand that while they have fun at Jazz's Wonderland, you will always return to pick them up. Dogs are smart and learn through association, so repeated positive experiences help ease their anxiety.

Addressing Anxiety and Consistency:

We are especially attentive to dogs who experience anxiety, as it can affect their socialization and eating habits. By starting with daycare, we can gradually introduce your dog to our environment and staff, ensuring they are comfortable and well-adjusted by the time they come for boarding. Most of our daycare pups come 3 to 7 days a week, forming a close-knit community where every dog knows each other. This consistency helps them feel at home and ready for a seamless boarding experience.

At Jazz's Wonderland, consistency is key to a positive experience. By acclimating your dog through daycare, they’ll be fully comfortable with our staff, routine, and fellow pups, making their boarding stay as enjoyable as possible.

Common Questions and Concerns:

  • Hungry or Thirsty

It's not uncommon for pets to come home from Jazz's acting as though they haven’t been fed in a week. Rest assured, your pup has been well-fed and hydrated during their stay with us. Dogs often eat and drink less in new environments due to the excitement and activity levels. When they return home, they might feel extra hungry and thirsty, which is why they may eat or drink more than usual.

To help your dog adjust, we recommend letting them rest and settle in before offering food. Start with ice cubes instead of water to avoid upsetting their stomach, and gradually reintroduce their regular meals. Their appetite and hydration levels should return to normal fairly quickly as they get back into their routine.

  • Why Is My Dog So Tired?

Has your dog come home and spent a lot of time sleeping? While this may be concerning, it's actually quite common. Just like people, dogs can have disrupted sleep in unfamiliar environments.

The excitement of new sights, smells, and activities at Jazz's can be stimulating and tiring. As a result, your pup may need extra rest to recover from all the new experiences they enjoyed during their stay. It’s perfectly normal for them to catch up on sleep once they’re back in the comfort of their own home.

  • I uploaded the Vaccines But I'm Unable to Book

If you're having trouble booking immediately after uploading your vaccine records, it’s because our team needs to manually review and approve the files. This process usually takes up to 24 hours. If you need to make a booking right away, please text us at 352-570-0887, and we’ll expedite the review as soon as possible.

For a smooth approval process, ensure that your vaccine records clearly show the "due dates" or "reminders" for upcoming vaccinations. We cannot accept records without these details, nor can we rely on verbal assurances of expiration dates. It's essential to request the correct documentation from your vet's office, as they know exactly what we need for boarding.

  • Do I Really Need to Prepack All the Food?

Yes, pre-packing your dog's food in individual ziplock bags is essential. This ensures your pup gets the correct amount of food for each meal during their stay. By labeling each bag with your dog’s name, we can easily follow their feeding schedule and avoid any confusion.

When owners provide a large bag of food, it can be time-consuming for our team to sort through. Prepacking and labeling each meal helps us maintain accuracy and ensures your dog’s dietary needs are met throughout their stay.

  • Does My Dog Need a Name Tag On?

While having some form of ID on your dog is important, we don’t recommend using dangling name tags on collars. These can sometimes get caught or fall off during their stay.

Instead, we suggest using a name plate, which attaches directly to the collar and stays securely in place, or opting for collars with the dog’s name embroidered on them or engraved on the buckle. These options keep the ID safely attached to the collar without the risk of it becoming lost.

Additionally, we advise against using rabies tags on collars, as they do not include the dog's name and we are unable to figure out who lost them.

  • I forgot My Items, Can I get them Next Time?

No problem, we understand that things can get forgotten! However, we can only hold onto lost items for up to 2 weeks after the pick-up date.

Due to the need to accommodate our daily pups, we can’t store items for longer than that. Please make sure to come back within the 2-week period to retrieve any forgotten belongings.

  • My Dog Has Never Been Inside a Crate

At Jazz's Wonderland, we use spacious crates that vary from 3ft by 4ft up to 5ft by 4ft, providing plenty of room for movement, a bed, bowls, and even for siblings to share the space. The only times during the day that pups are in their individual crates are during meal breaks—breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The rest of the time, they’re out playing and socializing in our yards.

If you’re unsure whether this setup will suit your dog, we recommend starting with a half day of daycare, then progressing to a full day, and eventually boarding. Dogs are quick learners and respond well to positive reinforcement. Associating crate time with meals makes the experience enjoyable for them. Since dogs are pack animals, they often follow the lead of their friends, which can help them adjust to the routine.

However, we understand that this setup may not be ideal for every dog, and we’re upfront about it. If your pup isn’t adjusting well to the breaks or routine, we’ll contact you right away to discuss other options and, if needed, suggest a different facility that might better suit your dog’s needs.
